ALEXANDRITE JEWELRY COLLECTION FROM MARK HENRY - JAMAICA TOURIST ISSUE 16
EXCLUSIVELY AT JEWELS & TIME
The Mark Henry jewelry collection features the rare stone of Alexandrite, first discovered in the Russian emerald mines of the Urals in 1834. The beautiful gemstone was named after tsar Alexander and inevitably became the national stone of old Imperial Russia, because it featured the kingdoms principal colors of red and green. Originally found only in antique Russian jewelry, smaller specimens eventually made their way across Europe where some were used in Victorian jewelry in England.
The most sensational feature of Alexandrite is the stones surprising ability to change its color, a feature which places it among the most valuable of gemstones in the world. Green or bluish-green in daylight, Alexandrite turns a soft shade of red, purplish-red or raspberry red in incandescent light. Thus, gemstones above one carat are considered rarer than a ruby, sapphire or emerald.
All Alexandrite used in the Mark Henry jewelry collection are top quality gemstones which feature the signature red to green colour changes depending on the light. Each created by a single craftsman, all pieces are finished in luxurious 18KT gold and accented with diamonds. Rings, Pendants, Earrings, Bracelets and Bangles are individually certified.
Available at Jewels & Time Duty Free stores in 4 different locations. In Montego Bay, at The Shoppes at Rose Hall and City Centre Shopping Mall downtown tel: 953-4600 and in Ocho Rios at both Island Village Shopping Centre and Tajmahal Plaza tel: 675-8762. Visit www.jewelsandtime.com.
